A 16-BORE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 9078,
circa 1822, later high quality conversion to centre-fire from muzzle loading (likely tubelock), 28 1/2in. nitro proved bold twist barrels (London proofed in 2014), the rib re-engraved 'JOSEPH MANTON. HANOVER SQUARE. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, true cyl. in both, left wall thickness at 16, Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, non rebounding bar locks, bowed triggerguard, bold acanthus scroll engraving, the action bar, underlever and fore-end iron serial numbered to match the triggerguard tang, 14 1/4in. stock (minor cracks to rear of lockplates), engraved steel buttplate with elongated top spur, fore-end with crosspin style release, weight 6lb. 15oz.
